AUBURN — Police are still looking for the driver of a maroon truck that hit a 15-year-old boy Thursday night on Youngs Corner Road.
Police and rescue crews responded to the intersection of Youngs Corner Road and Summer Street at about 7:15 p.m. Thursday after reports that a pedestrian had been struck.
The boy was taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Police declined to name him.
Lt. Rick Coron said the driver of the truck stopped and got out to check on the boy before driving off.
Police were looking for a a white male, late 20s to early 30s, between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a slim build. The driver possibly had a goatee and could have been wearing glasses and an orange ball cap.
The truck was described as a dark-colored or maroon GMC or Chevrolet with ladder racks and damage to the front end.
