SUMNER (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate a mishap that damaged a plane while landing on a grass air strip in the central Maine town of Sumner.
FAA spokesman Jim Peters said the Cessna 180 suffered minor damage to its landing gear, but that the pilot and passenger escape injury in the accident at 10 a.m. Sunday.
He said an FAA inspector would visit the site on Monday.
Peters did not release the names of those on board, but said they were a husband and wife. According to the FAA, the plane is registered to Clinton Goodhue, with an address listed in Florida.
