PORTLAND — Virginia M. “Ginny” Herrick, 72, of Norway, died Saturday at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 23, 1938, the daughter of Albert and Geraldine Foster Dewhirst. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in the Class of 1956, and Mid State College. Ginny had been employed as a quality control supervisor at Mecon Manufacturing, later at Rite Aid and Walmart in the photo department. In her earlier years she enjoyed camping, crocheting and knitting. She was a member of the Second Congregational Church in Norway. On Oct. 18, 1956, she married Leroy R. Herrick, who died May 19, 2009.

She is survived by a son, Jeffrey and his wife, Susan, of South Paris and their children, Christina and Christopher; and two great-grandsons, Camden and Landon; daughter, Tammy Pelletier and her husband, Dan, of Arizona and their children, Kyle Mitchell, Bryce and Paige Pelletier; son, Toby and his wife, Cheryl, of Norway and their children, Nichelle, Coty and Tanner.
