BELFAST — Leavitt received scoring from three differnet players in a 3-1 victory over Belfast in a girls’ soccer game Monday.
Moriah Treadwell, Tori Zupancic and Jenna Cote found the back of the net for the Hornets (10-2-1). Rachel Kahn scored the only goal for Belfast (6-7).
Kelly Pomerleau made four saves for the Hornets, while Haley Rae stopped nine shots for Belfast.
St. Dom’s 9, Madison 0
MADISON — Sophie Goulet, Stephanie Costello and Clara Bosco scored two goals apiece to lead St. Dom’s to a 9-0 trouncing of Madison in an MVC girls’ soccer game Monday.
Kayla McLellan scored the Saints’ first goal to kick off the scoring outburst. Also scoring goals for the Saints (13-0-1) were Taylor Paquet and Courtney Costello. Stephanie Costello chipped in with three assists and Dayle Jordan added a pair of assists.
Mary Caron stopped all five shots for the shutout, while Savanna Kandiko was credited with 12 saves for Madison (6-7).
Vinalhaven 2, Buckfield 1
ROCKLAND — Alana Watt and Izza Drury each scored two minutes apart midway through the second half to squeeze past Buckfield 2-1 in girls’ soccer.
Buckfield’s Kaitlyn Rines scored 25 minutes into the game on an assist from Abby Bragg giving the Bucks a 1-0 halftime edge. Watt evened the score with an unassisted goal past Buckfield keeper Katie Corson. Drury wasted no time putting Vinalhaven (5-6-1) ahead with an unassisted goal of her own. Strong defense kept Buckfield (3-7-2) from tying the game and Vinalhaven outshot them 17-12 in the victory.
Vinalhaven goalie Alex Slivinsky made seven saves in net while Corson stopped nine in the loss.
Poland 5, Traip 1
POLAND — Poland scored five unanswered goals including three in the second half to down Traip 5-1 in girls’ soccer action Monday afternoon.
Telstar took the ball down the field to start the game and got a quick goal by Carley O’Brien on an assist from Katherine Volpe giving the Rebels (2-11) a quick 1-0 advantage.
That would be the last time Telstar would have the lead. Sophomore Emma Turton scored less than three minutes later on an assist from Sarah Rushing. Freshman Emily Bolduc would score another first half goal giving the Knights a 2-1 halftime lead.
Bolduc and Turton would each add second half goals along with Steph Sirois giving Poland the 5-1 victory. Lindsey Theriault added a pair of assists while Bolduc and Kate Bridgham each added one in the victory.
Goalie Cassie Mocciola turned away six shots for Poland while Traip keeper Eileen Macomber stopped four.
Boys’ soccer
St. Dom’s 4, Monmouth 0
MONMOUTH — Alex Parker scored a goal and assisted on another to lead St. Dom’s to a 4-0 triumph over Monmouth in an MVC boys’ soccer game Monday.
Austin Gervais and brothers Zack and Kurt Johnson also scored for St. Dom’s (12-0-1), while jack Erickson added two assists.
St. Dom’s peppered the Monmouth net with 29 shots. Cam Hainey recorded three saves for the win, while Monmouth’s Robby Neal made 18 saves.
Georges Valley 3,
Lisbon 1
LISBON — Drew Townsend scored a pair of goals to lead Georges Valley to a 3-1 boys’ soccer victory over Lisbon, damaging the Greyhounds’ playoff hopes.
The Buccaneers built a 2-1 halftime lead and used a stifling defense to shut down Lisbon’s attack. The Greyhounds (5-7-1) were limited to three shots.
Lisbon’s only goal was scored by Ryan Fairbanks on a feed from Justin Grant. Kyle Robinson also scored for the Bucs (5-8-1).
Shane Tanguay made 10 saves for Lisbon.
Brunswick 3,
Edward Little 1
AUBURN — Edward Little made a run, but a late goal by Konnor Scarponi allowed Brunswick to escape with a 3-1 victory in a KVAC boys’ soccer game Monday.
Edward Little (5-8) trailed 2-0 in the second half before Nate Blais cut the lead to one when he drilled home a goal from 18 yards out.
Matt Kasabian and Rodrigo Cepeda also scored for the Dragons (10-3).
Ben Bowles was credited with seven saves for EL, while Seth Holmblad had five saves.
Dirigo 2, Mt. Abram 0
SALEM — Sophomore Chad Snowman scored just over 15 minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie to help lead Dirigo to a 2-0 victory over Mt. Abram in a boys’ MVC soccer clash.
Snowman took a delflected ball off a Mt. Abram (5-3-6) defender and stuck it towards the far post into the back of the net past Mt. Abram goalie Josh Beedy for the game’s first score.
The Cougars (9-2-2) would add an insurance goal approximately 12 minutes later when Alex Milledge scored an unassisted goal.
Battling the strong winds throughout the game, junior Caleb Tuner turned away all eight shots he saw in the shutout. Beedy would finish with six saves for the Roadrunners.
