FARMINGTON — Is there a Farmington resident born before November 1909?

The town is conducting a search for its oldest resident in order to award them the Boston Post Cane. So far, the names of three 100-year-olds have been submitted, town secretary Linda Grant said Tuesday. The town is accepting names until Oct. 25, she said.

After compiling the information and determining the recipient by birth date, selectmen will award the cane soon after, she added.

The cane became available when Martha Wasgatt passed away last month at the age of 101.
