AUBURN — Crews will close Pleasant Street to most traffic and parking for three weeks to rebuild the road and make a one-way street.
Work begins Wednesday removing the old Pleasant Street roadway between Court and Hampshire streets and replacing it with a new road base, paving, curbs and sidewalks. Crews are also scheduled to leave more room for parking, when work is finished.
The road will remain open for Pleasant Street businesses and other local traffic only as a one-way street northbound between Court and Hampshire streets. Pleasant Street will remain a one-way street when the work is completed.
Community and Business Specialist Tracey Steuber said all nearby businesses and residents have been notified of the work. The road is expected to be closed through Nov. 12.
