AUBURN — Carol M. Grenier, 67, of Rumford, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 20, after a very courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born on April 23, 1943, in Rumford, the daughter of Urban F. Hallee and Rita (Mercier) Hallee.
She was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1961. After completing high school, she attended Franklin Pierce Secretarial School in Boston, Mass. Carol then worked for Carey’s Oil Co. in Rumford for several years.
On April 18, 1970, she married Daniel O. Grenier, and had one son and one daughter. Carol was a homemaker who very much enjoyed making her house a home. She was an avid reader and a very talented seamstress who also liked to knit, especially mittens for the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wonderers in Waterville.
She enjoyed spending time at her summer home on Roxbury Pond, but was happiest simply spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother.
Carol is survived by her husband, Daniel O. Grenier of Rumford; a son, Michael J. Grenier of Manchester; a daughter, Valerie A. Grenier of Rumford; grandson, Gavin L. Grenier of Rumford; brother-in-law, Louis Grenier and wife, Susan Grenier, of Saco; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews; and countless wonderful friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Ronald F. Hallee.
