LEWISTON — Common Ties Mental Health Services is preparing to celebrate its 25 years of services to persons who are in recovery from a mental illness. The Green Ladle Restaurant will be the site of the agency’s annual meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18.
The board of directors will present the Kelsey Award for Quality and Excellence to Sen. Margaret Craven, the 100 Pine Street Wellness and Recovery Center will present the Wellness Works Award and Maine humorist, Gary Crocker, will provide tales of inspiration and motivation.
The agency supports healthy individuals and healthy communities through a series of recovery based services and collaborative partnerships with several Twin City organizations.
With one in five families experiencing a mental illness, Common Ties will celebrate the very basic fact that recovery is possible for the extraordinary people served and supported by the agency.
“We are all extremely proud of the mission and the values this agency brings to our family members, neighbors and co-workers. I often think of our founder, Kelsey Orestis, and her inspiration which still guides us and molds our actions,” said Katy Sperl, president of the board.
All are welcome to attend the meeting and are encouraged to RSVP to Lisa Dumont at 795-6710 or [email protected]. For more information, visit www.commonties.org.
