Citizen police
Issue: Local police are hosting a Citizen Police Academy for the first time.
The scoop: Lt. Matt Prince told the board that nine people have been attending regularly.
Up next: Thursday’s class, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the police station, is open to the public. On tap: a speaker on sexual assault and a Taser demonstration.
Miscellaneous
Issue: Sabattus would like a voice in the new regional dispatch center process. County commissioners and the dispatch board will be invited to the next selectmen meeting.
Issue: The town is unveiling a new online form that it’s encouraging residents to use to alert officials to issues such as missing street signs and problems in a road or to make a complaint. It’s available at www.sabattus.org under the “for residents” button.
Issue: The Town Office will be open for voting from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Issue: Because of Election Day, selectmen moved their next regular meeting to Wednesday, Nov. 3.
