Crews hired by Verizon Wireless arrived at the Waterford cell tower site on Rice Hill this week with Verizon’s communications building. The crane was also supposed to lift three antennas into place on the 180-foot tower but high winds forced officials to postpone that activity to another day. Verizon Wireless is expected to go live with its signal within two weeks. US Cellular turned on its signal March 11 on the tower owned by Global Tower Partners.
