NORWAY — William A. Rand Sr., 75, of South Paris, died on Oct. 18, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born on June 7, 1935, in Exeter, N.H., the son of the late Forrest and Flora (Brown) Rand. Bill grew up in Fremont, N.H., and was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1954 to October 1957, and formerly resided in Kensington and Brentwood, N.H.

For 40 years, Bill was employed as a meter mechanic for the Exeter and Hampton Electric Co. A dedicated family man and devoted grandfather, Bill was well-known for his sense of humor and woodworking skills. He has been a resident of South Paris for the last nine years.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda (Nason) Rand of South Paris; three daughters, Beth and her husband, Joseph Nichols, of Portsmouth, Va., Debbie and her husband, Carl Schrempf Sr., of Hampton Falls, N.H., and Denise and her husband, John Hall, of North Hampton, N.H.; his son, William A. Rand Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Kensington, N.H.; four grandchildren, Carl, Katie, Ricky and Morgan; three great-grandsons; his sister, Bernice Turner of Newton, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews.
