Hayride

WALES — A haunted hayride fundraiser will take place Saturday, Oct. 23, at Zanbelik Farms, Route 126, Wales. A fun ride for children will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. and the haunted ride will be from 7 to 10 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the Gardiner Area High School Class of 2012. Cost is $5 for the fun ride, for a parent and child, and $7 for the haunted ride. Rain date will be Oct. 30. For more information, call 375-8205.

Craft fair

AUBURN — The Auburn Esplanade at 20 Great Falls Plaza will host the second annual Christmas Craft Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. The event is open to the public for both shoppers and crafters alike.

Those interested in having a table at the event may contact Michaelle at 782-6481. A $10 prepaid fee for the table is required.

Open house

LEWISTON — Advocates for Children will host an open house in celebration of Maine Families Home Visiting Week, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28,   There will be parenting information, SMART baby activities, face painting, crafts, food and music.

Advocates for Children is located at the B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St., Suite 204.

LEWISTON — U.S.Congressmen Michael Michaud will present military service medals to three local brothers at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Meadowview Recreation Hall, Spofford Street.

Lorenzo and Laurien Kirouac served in World War II and Normand Kirouac served in Korea. Family and friends of the brothers are welcome to attend the presentation. Veterans who might like to get their service medals may contact Michaud’s office on 179 Lisbon St. or phone the office at 782-3704 and ask for Matt Dubois.

Haunted hallway

TURNER — Members of the Leavitt Area High School Class of 2011 will host a harvest supper and haunted hallway on Thursday, Oct. 28.

Advanced supper tickets cost $6 for adults, $3 for under 12. Ticket prices will be $1 more at the door. The supper will run from 5 to 7 p.m., haunted hallway from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A children’s costume contest will begin at 6 p.m. in the spook room, which will open at 5:30 p.m. for $1 each child.
