I’m writing in support of Mike Michaud.
Maine has lost more than 31,000 jobs due to unfair trade deals such as the North American Free Trade Agreement and other trade pacts. He has been a leader in Congress fighting for trade reform.
He submitted the blueprint fair trade bill, the Trade Act, which now has more than 150 co-sponsors. It would review and renegotiate trade agreements and ensure they have labor, environmental and safety standards. He is chairman of the House Trade Working Group, which is the fair trade caucus in Congress.
I’ve worked in a paper mill for over 29 years; I have seen firsthand how unfair trade has affected our communities. Having witnessed layoffs to plant closings, many hardworking Mainers have suffered due to unfair trade policies.
Michaud has worked tirelessly to level the playing field.
I’m voting for jobs. I’m voting for Mike Michaud.
