AUGUSTA — The Maine Commission for Community Service invites proposals for planning and conducting community volunteer service projects commemorating Martin Luther King Day of Service on Jan. 17, 2011. Successful applicants will receive up to $500 to help implement projects.
Copies of the Request for Proposals are available at the MCCS website ww.maineservicecommission.gov. All proposals must be submitted electronically using the online format described in the Request for Proposals. Proposals must be submitted no later than 2 p.m. on Nov. 30. No faxed or emailed proposals will be accepted.
Last year, 16 recipients were awarded $450 each to aide in developing community volunteer service projects.
