OXFORD — Second Best Ministries has announced its first annual Garden of Hope promotion to emphasize the needs of children in Maine’s foster care system awaiting adoptive homes.
For $5, a Rembrandt tulip bulb can be sponsored in the Garden of Hope. Bulbs may be in honor or memory of someone if desired. On Saturday, Nov. 6, during National Adoption Month, the bulbs will be planted in a heart-shaped garden at the Oxford Advent Christian Church on Route 26.
Approximately 150 children in Maine are awaiting adoptive homes. Professional portraits of the children are displayed statewide in the Heart Gallery in an effort to recruit permanent, loving, adoptive homes. Money raised will support the continuing outreach of the Heart Gallery, represented by the heart-shaped garden.
Tulip bulbs may be purchased at any Maine Pizza Hut or by contacting Second Best Ministries at 890-0726.
