HEBRON — Members of the Hebron Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 26, at the town office. The public is invited to attend.
The topic will be about the purchase and funding of a permanent home for the organization in Hebron Village. It will provide a place to house all historical records and artifacts and be available for public access and research.
At the last meeting, society members welcomed guest speaker Daniel I. Smith of Buckfield, who spoke on his knowledge of stone wall repair and construction.
A local man all his life, Smith described how he first became interested in stone wall construction only five years ago. He provided a brief history of the various rock walls in the local surroundings, and also explained the differences between the different types of construction.
Before the evening was over, attendees were given an opportunity to peruse a photo album detailing some of Smith’s work.
