FRYEBURG — A Lovell man was listed in serious condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland after he was ejected from his truck in a collision Wednesday on Route 302.

Paul Walker, 72, left the parking lot of Jockey Cap Motel and Country Store and drove into the front wheels of a tractor-trailer driven by Gregory Dunn, 27, of Casco, according to Fryeburg police.

Police said Walker’s 2001 Ford Ranger spun around and he was thrown through the driver’s side door onto Route 302, injuring his face and head. Fryeburg Rescue transported Walker to Memorial Hospital in North Conway, N.H. He was later moved to Maine Medical Center and listed in critical condition.

Walker’s condition was upgraded to “serious” Thursday. No charges have been filed in the accident, according to Fryeburg police Lt. Michael McAllister.

Fryeburg Fire and Maine State Police Truck Weights unit assisted the Fryeburg police, a news release from the police department said.
