LEWISTON — Marie Anne Forgues, 104, formerly of Bartlett Street, Lewiston, passed away Thursday afternoon, Oct. 21, at Marshwood Center with family at her side.
She was born in St. Mathieu P.Q. Canada on July 6, 1906, and was one of four children born to George and Malvina (Parent) Caron. She was educated in Canada schools.
On June 22, 1936, she married Albert J. Forgues and together they settled in Lewiston and soon after, began raising their five children. He predeceased her in 1989. Mrs. Forgues worked for many years in local textile mills and later worked several years locally as a housekeeper until her retirement. She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. Marie Anne was a lady of deep and strong religious faith and among her favorite enjoyments were completing puzzles and playing cards with family and friends. But most of all, she enjoyed quality times with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves a daughter, Jeannine Supterland, and husband, Bill; four sons, Raymond Forgues of Lewiston, Fernand Forgues and wife, Dory, of Port Richie, Fla., Ronald Forgues and wife, Corona, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Roland Forgues and wife, Mary Ann, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sisters; Rose Washington and Adrienne Caron; and a brother, George Caron.
