After a recent candidate forum, I am reconfirmed as a Republican.
In my district, Deb Simpson says improving education is a priority, yet says “no” to charter schools. Cuts need to be made in the state budget and she says “no” to reducing the size of the Legislature.
She thinks the incentives are satisfactory to entice new and small businesses to flourish, yet Maine is ranked at the bottom by Forbes Magazine as a place to grow or start a business.
The Democrats bragged that they voted in a tax break and complained that the people voted it down. They must think people are not smart enough to recognize it as a shell game.
Lois Snowe-Mello should be returned to the Maine Senate. Her character, hard work and commitment to residents will be needed to help get Maine out of this mess and back on track.
