People have a right to be angry and want change; however, people should assure the change they seek will, in fact, address their concerns.

Those people concerned about cutbacks in their children’s schools, or having limited access to health care should be aware that Republican Paul LePage wants to cut aid to education and further limit health care.

That is not the kind of change Maine needs.

Democrats, including Libby Mitchell, Margaret Craven and Deb Simpson, have worked hard to bring about change for livable-wage jobs, affordable housing, education and job training and universal health care access.

Democrats did not create the difficult economic climate. In fact, the very policies supported by the so-called “change” candidates, such as Paul LePage, including bank deregulation and tax breaks for the wealthiest, have led directly to the financial crisis the state faces today.
