Congratulations, Maine has been awarded the title of worst state of 50 to do business in by Forbes magazine.
Maine also has the distinction of having the lowest average income per citizen. It ranks near the top of the list for states that receive the most federal entitlement money. Maine also has a higher tax rate than most states in the Union and the utility rates remain one of the highest in the nation.
Libby Mitchell and her party are ensuring that Maine becomes the leading welfare state.
Campaign rhetoric usually counts for very little, but what does count is experience and record. Paul LePage has turned Waterville around and has been re-elected for three terms. His no-nonsense, get-it-done business background has shown he can provide solutions.
Come Nov. 2, I hope the public will vote as if their very financial life depended on the outcome. It does.
