Open house
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Root Cellar, 89 Birch St., will host an open house from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29.
All are invited to come see what’s going on at The Root Cellar and what’s coming up, share some apple cider, coffee, hot tea and other goodies. No registration is required.
OES to meet
AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
All Eastern Star members are invited to welcome a new member. Refreshments will be served in the dining hall after the meeting.
Marine Corps meeting
LEWISTON — The Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St.
Plans for the holidays will be made and there will be discussion about forming a new Color Guard. The Marine Corps birthday is coming up on Nov. 10. All marines are welcome. For more information, call 784-0656.
Holiday fair
AUBURN — The Odd Fellows’ and Rebekahs’ Home will host a holiday fair from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at 85 Caron Lane, with baked goods, crafts, knitted items, white elephant tables and more.
The annual bean supper will be held the same day from 4 to 6 p.m. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for children under 4. All proceeds will go to the activity program.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the annual club appreciation game at the Multi-Purpose Center on Oct. 25 were as follows: first, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; second, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; third, Cynthia and Bill Clifford; fourth, Alberta Turner and Rosemarie Goodwin; fifth, Dick Allen and Richard Balian.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Oct. 21 were: first, Guy Dube and Gerry Therrien; second, Louise Pelletier and Gene Brown; third, Sandy Oliver and John Violette; fourth, Roger Briggs and Terry Chambers; fifth, Norm Bissonnette and Roger Labbe.
