RUMFORD — Marvin W. Bickford, 60, of Rumford, died unexpectedly, Monday, Oct. 25, at his home.
He was born on Aug. 16, 1950, in Lewiston, a son of Paul and Nellie (Douglass) Bickford Sr. He attended Wilton schools, graduating from Wilton Academy and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army.
Marvin worked construction throughout the majority of his life. Most notably for Daniels Construction which took him all over the U.S. on jobs ranging from, Kentucky, Colorado and Florida.
A “jack-of-all-trades,” he did it all in the field. His favorite hobby was doing just that, working. He was a member of the Rumford VFW, Elks, Eagles and American Legion, where he recently served as the post commander and the Le Paresseux Club.
He is survived by his two sons, Keith Bickford and his wife, Erika, of Rumford and Brian Bickford and his wife, Robin, of Rumford; three grandchildren, Ashleigh Milligan, Karissa and Kylee Bickford; siblings, Paul Bickford Jr. and his wife, Priscilla, of Peru, Terry Bickford and his friend, Eva, of Rumford and Lisa (Bickford) Leeman and her husband, Todd, of Texas.
He was predeceased by his father, Paul on May 19, 2008; and his mother, Nellie on Sept. 29.
