One of the most important issues facing Maine is jobs. Workers in Rumford are fighting to keep the mill open in the face of cheap, illegally-dumped paper imports from China. It’s costing the U.S. jobs.
Looking at the candidates for governor, I have to think about this crucial issue. What concerns me is that Eliot Cutler has been working in China as a lobbyist. What was he doing there? Cutler’s firm Akin Gump was helping companies move factories from the U.S. to China, costing thousands of jobs here in the U.S. They advised G.E., who moved 15 factories to China from Ohio alone.
In the meantime, Libby Mitchell was here in Maine, standing up for workers and speaking out about unfair trade and paper dumping from China.
When I vote, I’m voting for the candidate who fights for Maine jobs and Maine workers, Libby Mitchell.
