NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library offers opportunities each week for parents and children to attend story programs. Story time, for children ages 2 to 5, is held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays, and Baby Boosters, for birth to age 2, is at 10:30 a.m. Fridays. No registration is necessary and new parents and children are welcome.

Baby Boosters provides a welcoming environment to introduce a child to the library, books and other children. During the program, participants read simple stories, sing songs, rhyme, laugh and play.

Story time is the library’s primary early literacy and language experience. It may build a skill set for getting a child ready for kindergarten. Kindergarten readiness skills are social, emotional, cognitive, expressive and language.

Additional books on story time topics are available following each program, for those who wish to reinforce at home what the child has learned.

For more information, contact the Norway Memorial Library at 258 Main St., call 743-5308 or visit the library online at www.norway.lib.me.us.
