LEWISTON — In response to increasing needs, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering to help home care patients and their families.
The training classes will focus on volunteer opportunities that support patients receiving home care services as they recover from illness, surgery or a new medical condition, according to Kathy Baillargeon, volunteer supervisor.
Grocery Volunteers will shop and deliver food and medications on a regular basis to patients and Visiting Volunteers will provide companionship and share in activities such as reading, card games or music.
The training class will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the AHCH office at 284 Main St., Wilton.
All volunteers are valued members of the health care team, and are matched with patients in or near their communities. Preregistration is required for the classes. For more information, call 777-7740 or 800-482-7412, ext. 1280.
