Cribbage play

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Oct. 28 were: first, Irene Beauchesne and Lucille Boisvert; second, Mickie Farnum and Roger Briggs; third, Anita Cusson and Sandy Verrille; fourth, Sandy Oliver and Linda Dostie Scott; fifth, Hope Hughes and Sue Dunlap.

The next game will be played at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.

Fall celebration

AUBURN — The American Legion Riders Post 153 will hold a Fall Celebration from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 6, at the William J. Rogers Post 153, 71 South Main St.

There will be live music featuring the blues band Matt and the Barn Burners. There will be no cover charge and public is invited to attend.

Bridge results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club held a card party fundraiser on Oct. 30 to benefit the YWCA.

In the duplicate bridge section, winners of the charity game in Flight A were: first, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; second, Flo and Paul Ludwig; third, Pat Smith and Jill Stirgwolt. Winners in Flight B were: first, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; second, Judy Kamin and Patricia Smith; third, Phil and Jean Bird.

Flight C winners were: first, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; second, Barbara Newcomb and Deborah Xaphes. Many contributors gave door prize items. The event was also attended by cribbage players and social bridge players.

Contest winners

NEW GLOUCESTER — The New Gloucester Historical Society has announced the winners of its first town-wide photo contest.

The winners are Isaac Blake, Jeffrey Kustron, Emma Matusovich and Samantha Libby. Judges were Sumner Field, Lisa Knedler and Gina Sawin. The prize winning photos will be on display from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 6, at the New Gloucester History Barn, behind Town Hall.

Blood pressure

LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center will host a walk-in blood pressure screening for seniors from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the CMMC Wellness Center Multipurpose Room, located on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building, adjacent to CMMC.
