LEWISTON — Carlyle “Bud” W. Rogers Jr., 61, a resident of East Road, Fayette died peacefully Thursday, Oct. 28, at Central Maine Medical Center following an extended illness subsequent to a motorcycle accident April 30.
He was born in Jackson Heights, N.Y., July 28, 1949, the son of Carlyle W. and Lorena (Brown) Rogers Sr.
He joined the U.S. Army after high school, where he served as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 during the Vietnam Conflict. He was highly decorated during his military service to his country. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross with 22 Clusters, Air Medal, Bronze and Silver Stars.
He then went on to graduate from Cameron University and received his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.
Following his education, Bud was employed as an executive in the pharmaceutical industry until his retirement to Maine in 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Carlyle W. Rogers III of Valencia, Calif., and Christopher S. Rogers of Taylor, Texas; two brothers, Richard L. Rogers and his wife, Patricia, of Tallahassee, Fla., and William A. Rogers and his wife, Katherine, of Grove, Okla.; and four granddaughters.
