LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center will offer a free two-part workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers titled “Turning Memories into Memoirs.” The introductory life writing workshop will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 15 and 22, at CMMC, 12 High St., conference room I.

No writing experience is necessary. Participants will learn basic literary techniques and write at least three pages of a meaningful and effective life story.

Presenter Denis Ledoux, author of “Turning Memories Into Memoirs: A Handbook for writing Life stories” and “The Photo Scribe: How to Write the Stories Behind Your Photographs,” has assisted thousands in writing personal and family stories since 1988 and believes anyone can write a meaningful, moving story.
