SOUTH PARIS — Eleanor (Frothingham) Heald, 79, of South Paris, died after an extended illness on Oct. 31, at the Market Square Health Care Center.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1931, in Lewiston, to William L. Frothingham and Marguerite (Brimigion) Frothingham. She grew up in South Paris and attended Paris schools. She worked in local shops until her marriage to Robert F. Heald on Nov. 12, 1949. She was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother.
After many years as a home maker, Eleanor returned to the work force in the laundry room at Andrew Nursing Home in South Paris. She worked her way up to become a certified nursing assistant, where she remained employed for 25 years. Her unassuming, gentle nature earned her recognition from staff and co-workers in 1988.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirli Allen-Heald of Norway; her sons, Jacob Allen and Nathaniel Allen; daughter, Patti Coolidge and her husband, William, of Bryant Pond and their children, Christopher Coolidge and Alicia Richards; son, Bill Heald and his wife, Karen, of West Paris; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Robert.
