FARMINGTON — Two people were transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Wilton Road on Monday afternoon.
Wendy Harris, 34, of Farmington and her passenger Curtis Moody, 42, also of Farmington, were transported to the hospital by NorthStar Ambulance, Farmington Police officer Michael Adcock said. Moody complained of neck and back injuries and Harris’ arm was hurt by the seat belt, he said. According to a hospital spokesman, both were treated and expected to be released by late afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. when a 2001 Chevrolet Lumina driven by Leah Greaton, 17, of Wilton pulled out of Knowlton Corner Road and turned left onto Wilton Road in front of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee driven by Harris, he said. Harris was traveling toward Farmington and her vehicle hit the side of the Lumina.
Greaton was not injured and her parents were able to drive her vehicle home. Harris’ vehicle was towed by Collins Wrecker.
Adcock estimated damage to the Lumina at about $6,000 and approximately $3,000 damage to the Jeep, he said.
The accident was kept to one-lane and the flow of traffic was able to continue. A Jay Police officer was driving by and assisted, along with Farmington Fire and Rescue, he said.
