BUCKFIELD — The Oddfellow Theater in Buckfield will present “The Early Evening Show” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday Nov. 5 and 6.
This late-night talk show spoof, now in it’s 13th year, will welcome Cirque du Soleil performer Steve Ragatz and Maine singer song-writer Jim Gallant to the stage.
The “Early Evening Show” has been performed from Maine to Switzerland, and comes complete with wild improvisations, hilarious videos, comic sketches, and spectacular finales. The show will also have special surprise guests along with Fritz Grobe, Oren Robinson and the Early Evening Show Orchestra.
Be part of the live studio audience on a show that even the performers aren’t sure what will happen next.
Hailed by the San Francisco Examiner as “impressive,” Steven Ragatz has been entertaining audiences with his juggling, physical comedy, circus arts and general antics for the past three decades. As a 10-year veteran of the French Canadian circus, Cirque du Soleil, Steven has toured throughout North, South and Central America as well as Asia and Europe performing multiple juggling acts as well as an eclectic array of characters. His television credits include “The Tonight Show,” “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” and “The Today Show.”
He has enjoyed seasonal appearances with the Indianapolis and Detroit symphonies juggling in front of live orchestras. Most recently, Steven has been touring internationally with Cirque Mechanics’ production of Birdhouse Factory, touted by Spectacle Magazine as “The most important contribution to the American circus since Cirque du Soleil.”
Jim Gallant from New Gloucester is considered one of Maine’s best-kept musical secrets. He has played his own style of music throughout New England for the past 30 years. In the fall of 2002, Jim was one of seven guitarists featured on the Seacoast Guitar Society Fingerstyle guitar CD entitled “Seacoast Guitarist Vol. 1.”
Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $8 for children 12 and under.
