FARMINGTON — Voters gave the nod to the incumbent candidate for the House District 89 seat Tuesday.
Incumbent Republican Lance Harvell of Farmington garnered 1,850 votes while the Democratic challenger Yvette Robinson, also from Farmington, reaped 1,385 votes.
House District 89 comprises the towns of Industry and Farmington. The Industry vote results were not available.
Harvell wants to continue to represent the district to help “create a better economic environment for jobs” after seeing the jobs held by his parents leave the state over the past 30 years. Raised and living in the area most of his life, Harvell works for Verso Paper.
Robinson, a self-employed chiropractor, ran for the seat because she felt the two communities needed a strong voice in Augusta.
