Elks dance

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Elks Lodge will host a dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 13, with music by Crossing Mason-Dixon.

Tickets are $10 and are available in advance at Madore’s Market or at the door. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Elks Veterans Committee for funding of veterans projects. Call 778-6761 for more information.

Board meeting

AUBURN — Community Concepts Inc. will hold its board of directors meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the AVCOG building, 125 Manley Road. Members of the public are welcome to attend. For more information, call 739-6564.

Veteran recognition

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Baptist Church, 194 Whittier Road, will host a Maine State veterans recognition ceremony at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13. Veterans from all branches of the military who have honorably served will be recognized with either a certificate, bronze, silver or gold star Honorable Service Medal.

Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m. Local veteran interviews will be shown from 2:30 to 4 p.m. To participate, contact Tom Saviello at 645-3420. Veterans who received recognition last year are also invited to attend.

Financial aid

JAY — A financial aid information presentation for the parents of Jay High School juniors and seniors will be given at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the high school library.

Trisha Malloy from the Finance Authority of Maine will present. The presentation will define financial aid, explain how to apply and describe the different types of financial aid available. For more information, call the Guidance Office at 897-4336.

Flu clinics

STRONG — The Strong Area Health Center, 177 North Main St., will hold seasonal flu clinics from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 9, 16 and 23. No appointment is necessary.

There will be a charge of $10 for the vaccine for all community members while supplies last. Insurances will not be billed. For more information, call 684-4010.
