PERU — Secretary to the selectmen, Kathy Hussey, was elected to the board Tuesday.

She succeeds Corey Jacques, who resigned.

Voters also approved the purchase of accounting software from Trio/Harris Computer Systems, which will include billing, assessing, tax collecting, online cash receipting, state outdoors licensing, excise calculations and electronic vehicle registrations.

The vote was 556 for and 202 against.

The software will replace the antiquated system created by Jim Pulsifer 20 years ago.

A total of $25,000 was transferred from the Capital Reserve Account. Voters had previously approved spending $48,500 for a truck-lease payment leaving a balance of $114,500 in the Capital Reserve Account.
