FARMINGTON — Twiggy, a younger girl, is an Akita-collie mix.
Staff at the Franklin County Animal Shelter said she knows how to sit and needs some help learning how to walk a little slower on the leash. She went home with a wonderful family for a little while, but proved to be a little too fast paced to keep up with, they said.
Twiggy would do best in an active home where she would have a master to play with. Staff said she gives great kisses and would enjoy it if someone would come in to take her for a walk and get to know her.
She also needs to be in a home without cats because she likes them a little too much, they said.
New dogs at the shelter include a terrier mix from Farmington and an American bulldog-pit mix from Jay.
The Franklin County Animal Shelter has also announced a benefit spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at the Old South Church in Farmington. There will also be a silent auction with plenty of ideas for Christmas gifts.
Tickets may be bought in advance at the shelter, 550 Industry Road or at the door. Cost for adults is $6 and children, $4.
