AUBURN — Archivist Jeff Brown of the Maine State Archives in Augusta will present a program at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the Androscoggin Community Room at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.
In his presentation, “Shaking the Family Tree,” Brown will talk about the various resources available at the Maine State Archives and how they can be used in genealogy and local history research.
Brown, an avid genealogy researcher, will discuss the archives’ historical treasure trove of early Maine vital and census records, land records, court records and military records, especially from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, and his experiences helping peoples use them.
The presentation is part of the library’s free PrimeTime programming. The programs are especially for adults ages 50 and over, but all are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
