LEWISTON — The Salvation Army and JCPenney have joined forces again this holiday season by offering an online option to support Angel Giving Tree adoptions.

The annual Christmas gift drive provides clothing, special needs gifts and other wish list items to kids and senior citizens experiencing financial hardship. The Salvation Army expanded the 40-year-old Christmas tradition by partnering with JCPenney to make it easier for supporters to participate this holiday season.

Customers may visit jcp.com/angel to request an Angel by zip code, city and state, age range and gender. An Angel who matches the criteria will be e-mailed to the customer along with a list of requested items. The confirmation e-mail will also include a link to view drop-off locations in the recipient’s area and ship-to addresses to receive online orders.

In collaboration with UPS, Angel Giving Tree gifts purchased through jcp.com can be shipped free of charge to a local Salvation Army collection center. The deadline to support the program is Dec. 10.

The Salvation Army of Lewiston has more than 1,000 local child Angels in need of adoption this year.
