I want to start by saying that I believe voting is important.

That being said, I am a fuming-mad Lewiston citizen. On Nov. 1, I received nine phone calls from candidates running for governor during a five-hour period.

Why do they feel the need to harass citizens with phone calls? Do they think that is effective in pushing people to the polls?

I believe that the more they push, the more people get turned off to the entire idea of voting.

I have to re-register this year due to a name change and I will be letting officials know at the poll that candidates do not have permission to call me and they must lose my phone number.

If calls continue in the future, I will not vote.
