LEWISTON — Richard E. and Muriel Leclair of Lewiston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently starting with a Mass at 4 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, followed by a celebration at Marco’s Restaurant.

The event was planned by their eight children. The couple received a picture of each of their children’s families along with a DVD of the special occasion. Rick Leclair was the toastmaster and Denise Cyr had charge of the guest book.

Mr. Leclair and the former Muriel Ouellette were married on Oct. 1, 1960, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston.

Their children are Joey and Denise Cyr of Lewiston, Rick and Monique LaChapelle of Lewiston, Mark and Diane Squirrel of Florida, Doris Roberge of Lewiston, Rick and Jessica Leclair of Litchfield, Paul Leclair of Lewiston, Marcel and Eryn Leclair of Auburn and Dan and Melissa Leclair of Lewiston. They also have 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Leclair was employed in the shoe factory and was a housewife.

Mr. Leclair was employed for 21 years at Knapp Shoe and retired from the Postal Service after 26 years.

Original wedding attendants present were Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Leclair, brother of Mr. Leclair, and Leo Ouellette, brother of Mrs. Leclair.
