I congratulate the new governor, Paul LePage. The people have elected someone who is not a liberal … finally.
Yet voters in Maine, Massachusetts, New York and California — the most liberal states in the country — have chosen to keep the status quo in the U.S. Congress.
Maine has been subjected to the liberal movement from Massachusetts and New York for years, and conservative voices have been shouted down. The liberals have created a welfare state, one of the poorest in the union and one of the highest taxed, and still people keep voting in liberals; and the bond issues always pass. I don’t get it. People can’t have it both ways — fiscal responsibility and socialism.
Most of the liberals I know are rich white men, Hollywood actors, and a black president. If they truly believed in sharing the wealth, they should all send their money to Washington. Instead, liberal elected officials prefer to tax those who can’t afford it and reduce them to poverty status.
They are elitist snobs and they will prevail if people let them.
