Thanks you so much for including the lovely story (Nov. 4) about Officer Jeff Baril who gave Heather Jeselskis an early Christmas present.
Once upon a time, I was a single mother struggling to get ready for Christmas with a large family and a small income. I was food shopping and suddenly realized that there wouldn’t be enough money to buy the Christmas candy I had included in my groceries. So I set them aside, telling the clerk, “Well, maybe I can get them later.”
Suddenly a hand appeared in front of me with a $10 bill in it. “You can’t have Christmas without candy,” the gentleman said, and walked away.
I didn’t even get out of the store before I started to cry. Such kindness.
So I know just how Jeselskis felt and I’m joining her in calling down blessings on Officer Baril and all his nearest and dearest.
