I just went through emergency kidney stone removal and have sampled the health care system from local providers through big-city specialists.

Kudos, praise and affection for every person who moved me along through this system. They performed with efficiency, effectiveness and unrelenting good cheer.

We have the best health system in the world. Its only weak link was me: denial of pain does not generate a cure.

In light of the care I received, I urge a repeal the mischief-ridden 2,600-page congressional attack on U.S. health care’s many graces.

Democrats created the health care bill on a foundation of unrelenting vilification of insurers, doctors, hospitals and drug companies. In preparation for their destruction of it, Democrats tore into the nation’s private health care system with constant reference to a politically biased United Nations study that declared it 37th in the world.

Then Barack Obama made thoroughly bogus claims of doctors enriching themselves by unnecessarily cutting off feet. He attacked evil insurers who refused to operate pro bono. Finally, it got right down to vilification of fat citizens who loved Happy Meals over tofu.

With such an adversarial attitude as a prelude, it’s no wonder that so many of the bill’s provisions carry a seeming desire to punish those so demeaned; to render powerless those who provide health care.

Repeal. Restart. And, this time, keep the present system’s many splendid graces in mind and seek improvements, not replacement.
