WILTON — The owner of a mobile home was able to return to her home on Route 133 Wednesday after an electrical problem caused a fire.

Drucilla Jones at 187 Route 133 was able to get her seven, small dogs out of the smokey home. She taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by NorthStar as a precaution, Assistant Chief Kyle Ellis said Thursday. She was later released, he added.

Some electrical problems surfaced early Wednesday and an electrician was at the home trying to figure it out when the house filled with smoke about 10 a.m., Ellis said. A small fire underneath the mobile home burned some of the structure and flooring, and destroyed a water pump. The house was livable after most of the smoke was removed, although there was no running water, he said.

Ellis estimated damage between $5,000 and $10,000.  The cause of the fire was attributed to an electrical problem.

Members of Wilton Fire Department along with Farmington Fire and Rescue, Jay Fire Department and East Dixfield Fire Department and Wilton Police officers helped at the scene.
