FARMINGTON — Lester G. “Frosty” Frost, 90, died Nov. 12, at Edgewood Rehabilitation & Living Center, where he had been a resident.

He was born in Industry, April 17, 1920, the son of George A. and Bertha (Spinney) Frost. Lester was educated in the schools of Industry and Farmington.

He worked as a steam engineer in a woolen mill and also worked at Forsters and the Farmers Union. He married Helen Hutchinson on Feb. 17, 1940, in Farmington. Gardening, fishing, hunting and knitting were a few of his favorite activities.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart, served in the European Theatre and was wounded in combat.

Lester is survived by a daughter-in-law, Diane Frost; three grandchildren, Debra Moore and husband, Rodney, Darlene Nile and husband, Robert, and David Frost and wife, Melody; five great-grandchildren, Mark Moore and wife, Tanya, Jamie Moore and companion, Dana Ledger, Sean Frost, Scott Frost and Shanda Moulton and husband, Roger; seven great-great-grandchildren, Kayla, Dillon and Lauryn Moore, Dylan Frost, Faith and Jordan Ledger and Kendra Moulton.

He was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Helen (Hutchinson) Frost; a son, Douglas; and a brother, Harold.
