AUBURN — Roger A. Bisson, 75, of Lewiston, died Saturday, Nov. 12, with his family by his side at the Hospice House in Auburn, following a long illness.

Born in Lewiston on July 15, 1935, he was the son of Emile and Irma (Caron) Bisson. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, Class of 1953.

On June 4, 1955, he married the love of his life, Yvonne H. Roy. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and in 1962 became a patrolman with the Lewiston Police Department, retiring in 1987 at the rank of captain.

A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards, jogging, and loved to travel with his wife, visiting much of Canada and 46 states together.

Besides his loving wife of 55 years, he is survived by two sons, Gary of East Bethany, N.Y., and John and wife, Susan, of Manchester, N.H.; two daughters, Linda and husband, Michael Blais of Lewiston and Tina Andrews of Scarborough; a brother, Stanley, and wife, Marielle Bisson of Big Bear, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Robert Blais and fiancee, Samantha Godfrey, Mark Blais and his wife, Brittany, Austin and Aileen Andrews, and Joshua, Leah, Matthew, Jocelyne and Emily Bisson; and a first great-grandchild expected next spring.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Paul R. Bisson.
