AUBURN — Ronald R. Coulombe, 68, of Sabattus, entered into rest on Nov. 13, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, after a long illness.

He was born in Lewiston on March 6, 1942, the son of Roland and Georgette (Lefebvre) Coulombe. He was a graduate of Edward Little High School.

He married his childhood sweetheart, Lorraine Pontbriand, on Aug. 12, 1961.

He was a former Auburn police officer and later moved to Bethel, where he worked as a superintendent of a shoe factory and owned a campground for many years. Most recently, along with his wife, Lorraine, he owned and operated Family Connections, an assisted living facility.

He was an avid outdoorsman, a love he passed on to his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed many great times at his hunting camp at Sunday River. He took great pride in his hobbies of gardening and stained glassing. He had a heart of gold and and was always there to help others in their times of need.

He will be forever loved by his family; wife of 49 years, Lorraine; son Daniel’s children, Joe and Chris; his son, Rick, and his children, Samantha, Kara, Dustin and Cassi, his son, Randy, and his wife, Jessica, and their children, Eric, Ashley and Wade; his sister, Connie Labbe and husband, Bob; his mother-in-law, Ann Pontbriand; and his many relatives and friends.

Ron is now with his much loved son, Daniel, who predeceased him on March 29, 2006.
