The inaugural event was presented by Mend-A-Body Solutions and raised $3,000 to help the YWCA in Lewiston meet its fundraising goal of $1 million. Many of the 137 runners and walkers dressed in Christmas attire. The YWCA has collected $430,000 in donations since announcing in August that its doors might have to close because of debt. The next fundraiser will be a swim-a-thon by the Edward Little High School, Lewiston High School and Saint Dominic Academy swim teams on Nov. 27.
