KINGFIELD — Noel “Nick” Irvin Philbrick, 54, died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 12, while enjoying his routine nature walk on the Rapid Stream Road in Kingfield.

He was born Dec. 25, 1955, in Farmington, the son of Irvin and Doris Dion Philbrick. He was educated in the schools of Pennsylvania, Kingfield and graduated from Mt. Abram High School, Class of 1974.

Nick owned and operated Nick’s Carpentry and Drywall in Kingfield for many years. Nick had many hobbies which included NASCAR racing and traveling. Recently, he was learning how to operate computers, GPS systems and digital cameras with photography. Nick was very close to his family, contributing to many family projects and was very proud of his nieces and nephews. He also was a great story teller and enjoyed debating and watching politics. Most recently, he was preparing to build a new home. He made his home in the Kingfield area most of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Doris Philbrick and her companion, Leon Ross, of Phillips; two brothers, Kelly Philbrick and wife, Lisa, of Stratham, N.H., and Roland Philbrick and wife, Kristy, of New Vineyard; one sister, Doreen Pingree and companion, Tracy Gordon, of Strong; two nephews, Brady Pingree and Alex Philbrick; and three nieces, Erika Philbrick, Aimee Philbrick and Taylor Gordon.

He was predeceased by his father, Irvin Philbrick; and his dog, Ashley.
