PORTLAND — Clifton R. Williams, 64, of Jay, passed away suddenly of cancer on Nov. 13, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, with family at his side.
He was born Aug. 26, 1946 in Farmington, the son of Lawrence and the late Shirley (Perkins) Williams. He graduated from Wilton Academy in 1964 and from Central Maine Vocational Technology Institute in 1966. He served in the U. S. Army from 1967 through 1971, mainly in Germany.
His greatest joy in life was his daughter, Nicole. Family was very important to him. Throughout the years he has enjoyed many hobbies, such as playing cards, bowling, fishing, and in his later years he was an avid horseshoe player. He was also a member of the Hosmer-Edwards American Legion Post No. 117 of Wilton and the Elk’s Lodge in Augusta.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Marie Williams and her boyfriend, Alan Dawes; his father, Lawrence Williams; sister, Brenda King; niece Kristin King: nephew Tory King, and many cousins.
